All our barn laid eggs (a cage free farming system), come from hens that are free to roam and move around a large shed.  This shed is designed to keep them clean, healthy and safe from the elements and predators. Within this controlled environment, they can scratch, dust-bathe and socialize with other birds, all the while having access to fresh water and feed.  The sides of the sheds are kept closed to keep them safe inside.
